Congratulations on winning your first BRIT Award. Have you thought about where you’re going to be keeping your trophy?
I haven’t given it too much thought yet, but I’d imagine my mum will want to claim it! She’s been my biggest supporter from the very beginning, so it feels only right for her to proudly display it somewhere in the house.
Your music has a distinctive blend of folk, Americana, and pop. How did you develop your signature sound, and who or what have been the biggest influences on your musical journey?
It’s been a bit of a journey, really. Growing up, my mum gave me my first guitar, and from there I just fell in love with the storytelling side of folk and Americana. Artists like Chris Martin of Coldplay and Mumford & Sons definitely had an influence, but I’ve always tried to mix that with modern pop elements to create something that feels true to me. I think Luton’s diversity rubbed off on me too, giving me a mix of sounds and experiences to draw from.
Your recent single “Nice To Meet You” has been a big success, with fans connecting deeply to its message. Can you share more about the personal or shared experiences that inspired this song?
“Nice To Meet You” was written from that feeling of meeting someone who makes you see the world differently, whether it’s a new friend, a relationship, or even reconnecting with yourself. I’ve had moments on this journey where I’ve met people who’ve shifted my perspective, and that song captures that magic. Seeing how fans relate it to their own lives has been incredible.

“Stargazing” is also a huge hit and has spread across TikTok. Do you ever watch the video creations people do to your song?
All the time. It’s wild seeing how creative people get with it. Some of the videos are hilarious, and others are really touching. It’s surreal to think a song I wrote in my room is now part of people’s stories around the world.
With over 1.4 billion global streams and the breakout single “Stargazing,” you’ve had a meteoric rise. What has been the most surprising or challenging aspect of achieving success so quickly on such a global scale?
Honestly, the most surprising thing is just how much everything’s grown. One minute you’re playing small gigs, and the next, you’re seeing your name on playlists next to artists you’ve looked up to for years. The biggest challenge has been staying grounded and finding time to slow down and take it all in. When things move this fast, it’s easy to get caught up in the next project or the next show, but having my family and team around keeps me focused on the music and reminds me to pause and appreciate the journey as it’s happening.

From performing on Fortnite Island to being featured on Barack Obama’s playlist, your career has included some unique milestones. Which moment has stood out as the most surreal or meaningful to you?
Being featured on Obama’s playlist was surreal. I mean, how do you even wrap your head around that? Performing on Fortnite Island was incredible too, seeing how music can cross into digital spaces and connect with people in such unexpected ways. But honestly, nothing compares to standing on stage and hearing a crowd sing your lyrics back to you. That feeling is unmatched.
I have read that you’ve mentioned that music is about connecting with people. What role do your fans play in shaping your music, and how do you maintain that connection as your audience grows?
My fans are everything. Their stories, their reactions, and even just seeing how they interpret my song. It all feeds back into my music. I try to stay connected to them as much as possible. Even as the audience grows, I want to keep that intimacy, that feeling like we’re all part of something bigger together.

Looking ahead, you’re set to join Ed Sheeran’s Mathematics Tour and have a busy year of headlining shows. What can fans expect from your upcoming performances?
I’m buzzing for the tour with Ed. He’s been a massive inspiration and a great friend. Expect a lot of energy, but also some stripped-back moments. I’m all about making each show feel personal like we’re sharing a moment together.
With two successful EPs under your belt, have you started to map out your debut album? If so, what can you tell us about it?
I’m always writing and thinking about what’s next. I’ve got a lot of ideas and songs that feel really special, and I’m excited about where things are heading. It’ll definitely stay true to that folk-pop sound people know, but I’m also exploring new directions and stories. Whatever comes next will reflect both where I’ve been and where I’m going.

Have you set yourself any goals for 2025?
For 2025, I just want to keep growing – musically and personally. I’d love to reach more countries on tour and share my music with new audiences. But more than anything, I want to keep connecting with people through the songs and stay true to why I started this in the first place.
